Keep on Moving (Don't Stop)

If you have older parents like I do or are into old school music, then the title of this blog post might remind you of a popular song by a very Afrocentric 90s r&b group by the name of Soul II Soul.  While their song may be specifically about a love interest that is out of reach, I interpret the songs title (Keep On Movin') to mean something a little different.

Sometimes keeping things moving requires simplicity and wearing something you can (actually) move in.

With all the hustle and bustle of school and work, I've gotten somewhat lethargic when it comes to updating my blog and social media.  After I spend a day in classes, an hour and a half at the gym, come home, shower, cook, and eat, I find that I don't have much energy or attention left to devote to my creative craft.  I've recently realized that the majority of people live by this corporate schedule, or one that it similar in structure.  We spend 8 hours learning or working for someone else, and then have no energy or time left to work on ourselves.  Is this fair? Of course not, but it's reality.  The silver lining of it all is that if I spend equally as much time working for and on myself, whether it be my blog, YouTube channel, or anything else, imagine how much further along I could be?  Imagine how much further along you could be?

The solution is to keep on moving.  When you are tired, when you aren't feeling creative or inspired, keep on moving!  This doesn't mean that you shouldn't allow yourself time to gather your ideas or regroup, however having a job or a certain level of responsibility can no longer serve as an excuse for neglecting your artistry.  At least not for me.  In the words of Soul II Soul,
